Artiste américain vivant dans le sud-ouest de la France.

Originaire du Colorado, j’ai récemment quitté San Francisco, en Californie, pour m’installer en France. Dans les années 1990 et au début des années 2000, j’ai cofondé à Denver une entreprise d’aromathérapie et de parfumerie, où j’étais l’artiste et le graphiste de la marque. J’ai ensuite poursuivi ma carrière à San Francisco comme designer d’intérieur pendant une quinzaine d’années. Dans ces deux univers, j’ai pu exprimer chaque jour ma sensibilité à la couleur et à la composition. Je peignais régulièrement sur toile pour le département de home staging de mon agence, et mes œuvres ont ainsi figuré pendant des années dans des centaines d’intérieurs mis en vente à San Francisco.

Pendant plusieurs années, j’ai également été bénévole un jour par semaine à Creativity Explored (creativityexplored.org), une galerie et un atelier emblématiques du Mission District. Cet espace accueille des artistes adultes en situation de handicap mental, qui y viennent chaque jour peindre librement. Travailler à leurs côtés m’a profondément marqué : j’y ai appris à voir l’art à travers leurs yeux, souvent sans filtres ni barrières. L’inspiration et la sincérité que j’ai ressenties durant ces années ont transformé ma vision de la création et confirmé ma vocation de peintre.

Désormais installé en France, je dispose enfin du temps et de l'espace nécessaires pour transposer toutes mes expériences passées dans la peinture. À travers ma « Série Périgord », je peins ma vie ainsi que les magnifiques villages et paysages qui m'entourent. Ma série en cours, « India », témoigne des nombreuses années passées à méditer en Inde — et de la richesse qui se révèle lorsque l'on choisit cette voie.

American artist living in Southwest France.

Originally from Colorado, I recently moved from San Francisco, California, to France. In the 1990s and early 2000s, I co-founded an aromatherapy and perfume company in Denver, where I worked as the company’s artist and graphic designer. I later moved to San Francisco, where I worked as an interior designer for fifteen years. In both professions, I drew daily on my experience with color and composition. I regularly painted on canvas for my interior design company’s home-staging department, and my artwork appeared in hundreds of San Francisco residential listings over the years.

For several years in San Francisco, I also volunteered one day a week at Creativity Explored (creativityexplored.org), a well-known art studio and gallery in the Mission District where adult artists with developmental disabilities come every day to paint their souls on canvas. Working directly with these artists taught me to see art through their eyes — unfiltered and deeply authentic. The inspiration and love I experienced during those years profoundly changed my life and reaffirmed my passion for painting.

Now settled in France, I finally have the time and space to channel all my past experiences into painting. I paint my life, including the beautiful villages and countryside around me, in my series “Série Périgord.” My ongoing series, “India,” reflects on many years spent meditating in India — and the richness that unfolds when one chooses this path.
